Supervision and Consultation

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it.
— Margaret Fuller

Knowledge is best when shared.

The issues of these communities are complex; working with such clients requires specific knowledge and engagement skills.  The nuances can be difficult to learn, and while there are increasing opportunities for clinicians to become educated, it is often essential to have ongoing contact with an experienced professional to ask questions and receive specialized information.  Direct training can make the knowledge personal.

As part of my mission to educate, it is important that I share my expertise with other clinicians.  I am happy to provide clinical supervision around psychotherapy with a wide range of clients, from general psychotherapy with adolescents and adults to more marginalized, sexual and gender minority communities including transgender and gender nonconforming adolescents and adults, LGBTQ issues, and sexuality including alternate lifestyle issues such as BDSM/kink, nonmonogamy, and sexwork.

I am happy to provide consultations and supervision in person, or long distance via telephone or Skype.

Supervision regulations vary by state; I ask that you check with your local licensing boards to check the issues in your area.  This is especially important if you intend to use your work with me toward licensure requirements.

I can assist you to be a more knowledgeable and skilled practitioner when working with clients around these issues.

I have always thirsted for knowledge. I have always been full of questions.
— Herman Hesse
